Only feelings are guilt and sadness. No motivation. Am I clinically depressed? How can I beat it?

knowing how to beat it is the first step. When I have felt like you do now I have had to FORCE myself to do what I know needs to be done. Start with an invigorating play time session with your beautiful son (your depression is affecting him too), go to the park, load him in a wagon and go the dairy queen, go feed the ducks at the lake- you get the idea, revel in his laughter and happiness, he's just a little boy and it hurts him to see daddy sad. Next, don't forget to take care of yourself (you know this already) eat a balanced diet, shower daily even if you don't feel like it, just do it. Shave, wash your hair, brush your teeth. Work up your heart rate in an exercise routine- even if you do 2 minutes of jumping jacks a day, it will invigorate you. As I said, I have been in your shoes- the guilt, the depression, the lack of hygiene etc- you must force yourself to do it. If you're feeling guilty, get rid of it by doing the right thing. You know what to do! Now get busy brother! Good luck my friend, and just know that people you don't even know are praying for you.
